Sensex This day | Stock Market Highlights: Markets extended positive factors for the session, ending near a two-month high with benchmark indices firmly in the fairway. The Nifty rose 212 aspects to 24,577, closing above 24,500 for the major time since March 5, while the Sensex climbed 753 aspects to seventy nine,273.
Banking stocks led the rally, with HDFC Financial institution, ICICI Financial institution and Axis Financial institution among the head contributors. The Nifty Financial institution index surged 789 aspects to 57,371, while the midcap index added 296 aspects to 60,087. Market breadth remained solid, with the design-decline ratio at 2:1.
Amongst key movers, Nestle India surged 7% after an all-round Q4 beat, rising as the head Nifty gainer. Trent rose 3% sooner than its results, while PNB Housing Finance and Groww received after solid earnings, lifting peers equivalent to LIC Housing Finance, up 5%. Financial institution of Maharashtra advanced 6% on wholesome Q4 numbers.
On the downside, SBI Lifestyles Insurance fell 4% sooner than its results. SML Isuzu dropped 7% on margin pressures due to elevated input prices, while Eris Lifesciences declined 4% after regulatory observations for its devices.
